Intragroup Process

The underlying assumption of our research is that, to be able to function effectively as a performing unit, group members must adopt collectivistic values, while at the same time maintain and exercise their sense of uniqueness. This proposition has been tested in a variety of settings, including group creativity and innovation, group-oriented deviance, entry and exit behavior in teams, collective goal management, work motivation in task groups, group decision-making, information sharing and communication within and between teams. We also examine the combined role of collectivistic values and an independent self-concept in managing work group diversity and intragroup conflict.
